7 Quick Takes Friday Volume 2

Here we are again back to Friday!
once again I will be joining Jen at Conversion Diary

1. Ronald aka Ronnie and Harry aka Fat Boy. They put up with a lot in our house especially having a 5 year old Princess who just loves them to death.

M&M and Harry AkA Fat Boy"help me"

Ronnie tolerates a lot in our family including be mistaken for a boy for almost an entire year, oops!

2. Spring has officially arrived. I am looking forward to starting off our sunny mornings with coffee and treats at the beach while we watch the ferry hard at work. I really would like to emphasis sunny. Yep, I am talking to you Mr. Weather! I am not sure what you had in mind with the wind storm that brought spring to our front door with the dumping of snow.

3.

Going to Lynden to see my dad. Enough said! I wish I  got to see my sister on this trip.  It is always good, but for some reason we eat copious  amounts of fast food when we go.  Bleh, I am so over fast food.

4. Made an amazing dinner on Sunday. Everyone said it was the best corn beef that they had ever had. Apparently no one was hungry for corn beef as we have ate corn beef every day since then.
Had a very tough time finding Fava beans. I have yet to find any. I will check at Whole Foods on Saturday. At the last minute because of the lack of Fava beans, too many things scheduled on the afternoon and evening of the Feast of St. Joseph and me still flaring away, we decided to move the Feast of St. Joseph Day. I am sure if you look in your  Baltimore Catechism, you will find this is totally legit. I am paraphrasing right now, but I am pretty sure it says, if at any time that Heidi feels like she has to much on her plate and not up to her duties of hosting, she can reschedule any feast day to her liking. The boys are camping this weekend and will be home Sunday afternoon. We will have a family dinner with everyone in attendance on Sunday. I am sure St. Joseph will understand. We did toast Pope Francis Inaugural mass with a shared chocolate bar (thanks M&M, see number 6).

5. There was a tragedy at our house the other day. Pretty sure we witnessed a suicide, a suicide of a rather large bird. It crashed in our rather dirty front window where two cats happen to be sunning themselves (or dreaming of sunning themselves). We hear a huge loud thud. The poor thing left half of his guts on the window. He proceeded to shake for a couple of seconds then die. I am guessing he had no insurance and no money speak of so I guess we are stuck with the repair of the two cracks that his body left on the windows.

6. A shameless plug for M&M. She has chocolate bars for sale for American Heritage Girls. We have done several quality control checks and can guarantee they are up to standard.

7. Love and Salt by Amy Andrew and Jessica Mesman Griffith finally came in at our local library. There is something magical about reading a brand new book. This book leaves me with tons of questions but primarily, how many hours each day did each of these women spend on writing to each other?  Of course reading the letters written almost a decade ago does not do anything to hinder the fact that I want to add my two cents. I do not know about you but somehow me talking to the book, I never get a satisfactory response back.
