I have been called into the game and no longer the bench warmer. I am joining Jenifer in 7 quick takes Friday over at conversiondiary
1. The Pope Alarm! Amazing getting instant notification that white smoke has been seen. I love our friends who knew that I had given up Facebook for Lent. How many text did I get announcing the white smoke? I giggle that for some equate a fast of Facebook means a fast of the internet (which in itself is a very scary thought). Goosebumps were had by all in this house upon seeing this most magnificent picture of our Sancta Sedes.
2. Cuddly little girls. I am very grateful for the sweet little girl(s) who decided to lay with me on the couch and watch a Jesus documentary and Doctor Who marathon. Do not ask me why said kitty was content in laying on her back on top of 5 year old M&M for hours on end. Maybe she was into the Doctor Who just as much as M&M and I are. Ronald (the kitty) has yet to answer the age ole question of a yet though, would you go? Knowing Ronald as I do, I doubt she would hesitate. Just a reminder, as if you needed a reminder: 15 days until the new Doctor Who? Hmm if it was not Easter weekend, I would contemplate flying to England, so M&M and I could see it 8 hours early. Yep, that is right, the only thing hindering us going to England in 15 days is where it falls on the calendar. Never mind the fact that our money tree is not producing or the need to have passports. Those are minor details.
3. TFOLT having the entire weekend off and there was nothing on the calendar participating the need for TFOLT taking the weekend off i.e. no plans for the Barrett Clan (I am pretty sure that can be classified as a minor miracle). We had a nice leisure morning at Pike Street Market where we munched on hot buttery crumpets possible the best on the planet. Upon returning home, TFLOT (true to form as he is the finder of all that is lost) found a hidden path in our backyard complete with a 3 foot concrete foot stepping stone.
5. Adult size beverages for children: I picked up M&M up from her class yesterday afternoon. It was the first time I had seen her that day as the boys had appointments at Seattle Children's hospital at the crack of dawn and then their remicade infusions at Everett Providence Hospital. Having spoke to TFOLT earlier, I knew that M&M and his morning had been off to a rough start. TFOLT did not get home from work until almost 2:30 am, and we had had spent the rest of the evening/ predawn hours being entertained by the 2 fury kids. Never mind the fact that someone who shall be nameless woke up cold in the predawn hours and crawled into our bed (whose sheets I had just had changed) and proceeded to pee all over me. It was a wonder that TFOLT got M&M to her class at all (not only did he get M&M to class on time, he showed up 45 minutes early). When I was asked M&M what she had for breakfast that morning, I was informed by her that she had drunk an adult beverage. It was not until this morning when TFOLT informed me he had ordered M&M a large water did I have any clue what M&M was talking about. She kept on telling me over and over about her adult beverage and that it was an amazing morning because of said beverage. Apparently, this act of generosity on TFOLT part totally made M&M's day. TFOLT was glad to hear that he was up for once again Dad of the year in M&M's heart. He was a little concern that she was going around telling people that her dad lets her partake in adult beverages. I am leaving it up to him a to explain to her teacher.
6. The child who makes me laugh. I have yet to ponder how this probably makes me look (hmm failure as his teacher comes to mind) as I am still chuckling; someone got very upset with the book he was reading for his school and proclaimed, "why cannot Mark Twain write in normal English like everyone else".
7. Autoimmune diseasessuck! are not for the weak. Yep, that about sums up exactly what I am feeling. Of everything in life that I could give my kids, juvenile arthritis is not one that would have made the list. I would have preferred to do this struggle alone, but I guess there is unity in a family fighting the same disease. Or at least that is what I tell myself.

4. Kids who are old enough to take care of themselves. There is something to be said to have children that are old enough to take care of themselves and each other especially when their mother is in the midst of PsA flare. I am so proud of my boys and little girl. They might quarrel and argue amongst themselves but I can count on them to do the right thing and make pizza. We are very grateful that Liam is finally growing in both directions and that he is actually eating and no longer needing his feeding tube but and that is a big BUT do we really need to eat pizza 3 meals a day 7 days a week? At what point will this child get tired of the same food over and over and over. Levi actually begged a few days ago for us not to bring any more pizza in our house. Liam is puzzled at how anyone could be sick of pizza.
