A very long time in the making..

I have not always been known to be Speedy Gonzales. Often in my life I am on the slow train. Most people take oh 4 years to get a bachelor degree. I took the ten year route (I like to smell the roses along the way). A normal pregnancy is 40 weeks. I decided to do it in 43 weeks instead with my first. Why yes that is an extra 3 weeks. And yes I did really appreciate all the phone calls, "Have you had the baby yet" because nothing spurs on labor then being told you are taking to long. The next two kids that came along evicted themselves at 37 weeks, so I am not always on the slow course.

This past Saturday was 29 years in the making from the time I started to the day I finished. I really wanted to make sure that I was really really committed. Typical Barrett fashion the day got off to a rocky start. Maggie greeted the morning with a fever and vomit. Nothing makes my day then dealing with vomit first thing the morning. Lucky for us Maggie is a pro at being sick. Nothing was going to stop me from making Saturday happen, so we roped James into watching a vomiting Maggie because we know James really enjoys spending quality one on one time with his little sister especially when she is throwing up. We were able to make it to the church on time with only one minor snapfu, someone who shall be nameless who was given the only task of being at the church on time with the camera forgot the only thing he was in charge of. OOPS!  It did not matter as it was a wonderful Mass where I finally was Confirmed.
