Every April I look enviously at the strawberries that come to market. They look so sweet so delicious. I am such a fool. Every year I throw down my $5 to buy a couple of pounds only to be greatly disappointed. Why oh Why am I so stupid? How can something as fragile as a strawberry be any good after being trucked 4,000 miles? How can I expect great taste from a berry that is 10 days off the vine?
