Southern Belle in the making

My poor daughter, her inward Southern Belle has been stomped. She had a tea party to go to. She had been planning her outfit for weeks. She wanted to go dressed in all white including her hat and gloves. The gloves just had to be full length, nothing less would do. I told her we would shop for her tea party fineries after Easter. My inward tightwadness was hoping to score some sweet deals. But as we quickly approached Easter, I discovered something, no one around here carries little girls Easter hats i.e. tea party appropriate hats let alone little white gloves. You could forget the full length little white gloves. (I sure in the heck was not going to point out to the little Miss M&M that she was creating a faux pax by wearing long length gloves to an afternoon tea, but I guess that is what the follies of youth are for). We finally at the very last minute found a hat for her to wear although it had pink in it. She did not stop scowling at me for an hour. I cannot wait for her to become a teenager.
